Fluvanna's Candidates Forum: Meet the People Running to Represent Our Community

Join the Candidates and Community Members as We Meet at the Fluvanna Fire Hall on Sunday, October 22nd, 2023 @ 5:00 PM


As conscientious citizens, it's important to take an active interest in the individuals who aim to represent us in the political arena. The decisions they make on our behalf will shape our future and the future of our community. With this in mind, we are thrilled to announce an upcoming event that will provide a platform for us to learn more about our potential representatives: Fluvanna's Candidates Forum. Read more below.

ABOUT THE EVENT:

Fluvanna's Candidates Forum is a non-partisan, educational event that offers an opportunity to meet and interact with the candidates running for office in our community. It allows us to gain insights about their plans and visions for Fluvanna and the wider region. More importantly, it gives us a chance to share our thoughts and ideas with them, contributing to the process of shaping a better future for us all.


DATE, TIME & PLACE:

The forum is scheduled for Sunday, October 22nd. We encourage everyone to mark their calendars and make time to attend this important event. The forum will begin at 5:00 PM, providing enough time for all attendees to have meaningful interactions with the candidates. The venue for the forum is the Fluvanna Fire Hall, located at 3536 Fluvanna Ave., Fluvanna, NY 14701. The location is accessible to people with limited mobility or physical disabilities ensuring that everyone in the community has the opportunity to attend the event.

All candidates wishing to represent Fluvanna or seeking election to any other position within the Town of Ellicott are invited to the event. Candidates invited to participate in the forum are as follows:

HOW TO SUBMIT QUESTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES:

Community members may pose questions from the floor at the Candidates Forum itself or may submit questions in advance of the event. Questions may be submitted safely and securely online by clicking here or scanning the following QR code:

Questions ought to be posed in accordance with guidelines established for the Candidates Forum which are included in the online questionnaire and will be reiterated by the moderator at the event itself.


REGISTER FOR THE EVENT:

Members of the public attending in-person are not required to register for the event, but registration in advance is appreciated. Registration enables us to email or txt updates regarding the event and send reminders.


Those who wish to view or participate in the event online are welcome to do so, but must register in advance. Once registered, a link to join the Candidates Forum online will be sent to your email address.

This event is organized by Fluvanna’s United Neighbors (a community organization that is dedicated to improving the quality of life in Fluvanna and fostering a sense of unity among its residents) and proudly co-sponsored by Fluvanna’s nonprofit organizations: the Fluvanna Community Church, Fluvanna Community Historical Society, Fluvanna Free Library, Fluvanna Fire Department and the War Vets Recreation Inc. Their support for this event underscores their commitment to democratic processes and the welfare of the community.
