Have you dreamed of making history? Of course, we all have. We at the Fluvanna Community Historical Society (FCHS) are dedicated to both making and preserving history. And now we have another chance to be a part of Chautauqua County's day of giving - an opportunity to unite our community around causes in which we truly believe and help nonprofit organizations connect to the larger community.

What is Give Big CHQ?
Give Big CHQ is a 24-hour online fundraising event that connects individuals with causes they care about in Chautauqua County. Over 100 nonprofits, including the Historical Society, have created a fundraising page to accept donations the day of the event (June 9, 2022). Now in it's fifth year, organizations participating in Give Big CHQ have helped raise over $1 million dollars to directly support local nonprofit organizations.
What Can You Do?
We need your help to make our campaign a success, and we’ve included a few easy ways that you can support us:
Share and share alike. Online days of giving are successful because of our own network of people we know. Help us grow our network by sending this article as an email, Facebook, Instagram post, tweet etc. to your network and ask your friends to do the same.
Be socially (media) active. Use your social media networks: post on Facebook, tweet about Give Big CHQ, and share your love for the Fluvanna Historical Society, the work we do and our vision for our community! Ask others to do the same. Email or click on the chat button here online, at our Virtual Meeting House, and we can send you sample graphics, pics and txt you can use to help promote FCHS. Alternatively, visit our "Spread the News!" webpage.
Become a fundraising champion. Everyone loves a champion, including us! I mean, just look at these two adorable girls!! Together they raised over $400 in just two days for our Historical Society ! We really need other fundraising champions to help drive people to our Give Big CHQ profile on June 9. FCHS Matching Grant: For every donation FCHS receives on Giving Day (6/9) through our Give Big CHQ Fundraising page, an anonymous donor has pledged to double the donation! PLUS ...
Community Foundation Stretch Pool: All donations received on Thursday, 6/9, between 7:16 AM and 7:16 PM qualify FCHS to receive additional donations from the Community Foundation. How much of the $25,000 pool of dollars we receive depends on the number of unique donors and amount of donations we receive from these donors. So the more donors and donations we receive, the Community Foundation will give us a bigger portion of the $25,000 pool, PLUS ...
$25 Match Hours: In honor of 5 years of #GiveBigCHQ, the Community Foundation will sponsor a $5,000 match pool. All online donations will be matched up to $25 during the hour of 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM or until the match pool is exhausted.
