The Fluvanna Community Historical Society (FCHS) is proud to announce its successful participation in 'Give Big CHQ' event, a testament to our commitment to preserving the rich tapestry of Chautauqua County’s history. This year’s event was not just about fundraising; it was a celebration of community spirit and the collective effort to support the causes close to our hearts.
What is 'Give Big CHQ':
'Give Big CHQ' is a 24-hour online fundraising initiative that unites individuals with the causes they care about in Chautauqua County. On June 13, 2024, the event saw a flurry of activity as 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations located throughout Chautauqua, including FCHS, created their own fundraising pages to accept donations. This event is crucial for the nonprofit community-at-large, as it provides a platform to raise awareness, engage with donors and secure vital funds for ongoing projects and initiatives.
2024 'Give Big CHQ' Overall Results
The 2024 edition of 'Give Big CHQ' was a remarkable success, showcasing the incredible generosity and unwavering commitment of our community towards supporting local nonprofits and their vital missions. The 2024 event garnered an outstanding total of $388,899 through 3,896 monetary gifts contributed by over 2,000 donors, illustrating the significant effects that collective action can have in creating positive change. Each donation, no matter how big or small, played a crucial role in empowering not-for-profit organizations to continue their crucial work in serving those in need and making a difference in our community.
FCHS's 2024 'Give Big CHQ' Results
FCHS marked its fourth year participating in ‘Give Big CHQ’ with notable results. The 2024 'Give Big CHQ' event for FCHS garnered generous contributions from 23 donors who gave a total of 24 separate gifts. This collective effort led to a significant fundraising milestone, amassing a total of $1,241.
FCHS's 2024 'Give Big CHQ' achievement was bolstered by the generosity of our Historical Society President, Rick Keefer, who matched all donations received during the 2 o’clock hour of 'Give Big CHQ.' This resulted in FCHS receiving an additional $200. Furthermore, several FCHS donors were lucky enough to submit their donations in on time to be matched by the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation’s (CRCF) 'Double-Up Donation Match' incentive. In total, FCHS received an additional $120 from the 'Double Up-Donation Match Award.' Combining the matching grants from CRCF and our Historical Society President, a number of donors effectively tripled their contributions during 'Give Big CHQ.'
In addition to these matches, FCHS was also a recipient of the '716 Stretch Pool Award,' an incentive program designed to stretch every dollar donated. This year, we were delighted to receive an additional $126.03 from this program, enhancing the effectiveness of every donation received during the designated hours of 'Give Big CHQ.'
Thanks to FCHS's Contributors
FCHS would like to express our thanks to the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation (CRCF) for sponsoring 'Give Big CHQ' and for their continuous support of FCHS over the years. The positive effects of their dedication and generosity cannot be overstated. The CRCF has played a substantial role in the success of our organization, helping FCHS with the necessary resources and assistance to thrive and achieve our goals. Their service to the community goes far beyond just our organization. The CRCF's support has been a cornerstone for numerous nonprofit organizations across Chautauqua. The Community Foundation has made a significant difference in the lives of countless individuals and communities. Their contributions have resonated throughout the region, touching the hearts and minds of many.
A special thank you goes, once again, to the Historical Society Vice President, Candie Muzza, for her motivational and exceptional coordination efforts and to all the donors who strategically aligned their donations to maximize benefits for FCHS. Without Candie's contribution, our success this year would not have been as significant.
Last, but certainly not least, we extend our heartfelt thanks to you, the Historical Society's donors, volunteers and supporters. As we look to the future, we are inspired by your dedication to our community and encouraged to continue our mission. Your contributions help us safeguard the stories, landmarks and unique public spaces that define the character of our community and sustain our efforts to restore Fluvanna's heritage. We invite you to stay engaged and continue supporting FCHS as we preserve the legacy of Fluvanna for generations to come.
Together, we are not just giving; we are preserving our history, restoring our community and investing in our future.
